Congressman Peters on C-SPAN June 10, 2009

Congressman Gary Peters speaking on the House floor on June 10, 2009 to introduce his ammendment to the Western Hemisphere Travelers' Initiative. The Peters' Ammendment will require the U.S. State Department to study the effect of WHTI passport rules on U.S. residents and businesses and report on their findings to Congress. The amendment stipulates the report should pay specific attention to the effects on small businesses, and on WHTIs effectiveness in accomplishing its goals. Peters amendment was passed after the House approved adding it to the Foreign Relations Authorization Act. The bill now heads to the Senate.
