Senators Peters, Stabenow Announce Over $40,000 to Support Bertrand Township Fire Department

WASHINGTON, D.C - U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) today announced that the Bertrand Township Fire Department will receive $42,857 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to purchase a new compressor to update their self-contained breathing apparatuses. The funding comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.

“Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to keep our families and communities safe,” said Senator Peters. “This federal support will be used to provide firefighters in Bertrand Township with new equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.”

“Our firefighters put their lives on the line to protect our families, homes, and communities,” said Senator Stabenow. “These new resources will help keep the public safe and give our first responders the equipment they need to do their jobs more safely and effectively.”
