Senators Peters and Stabenow Applaud Nomination of Robert White to Federal Judgeship in Michigan’s Eastern District

WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow today applauded President Biden’s nomination of Robert White to be U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. Robert White has served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan since 2018.

“I applaud the President’s nomination of Robert White to serve as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan,” said Senator Peters. “White is a highly qualified and respected legal mind with extensive experience cracking down on organized crime, both in public and private practice. I’m confident that he would serve the state well on the federal bench and help to keep more Michiganders and their communities safe. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to support his confirmation.”

Robert J. White has been an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan since 2018. Previously, Mr. White served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas from 2014 to 2018. Before that, he worked as an Associate Attorney at Ralph E. Meczyk and Associates from 2010 to 2014. He received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2010 and his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2007.
