Peters’ ‘Kalamazoo to the Soo’ Tour Will Make Stops in Kalamazoo, Wyoming, Traverse City, Sault Ste. Marie & Sanford
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) announced that he will begin his annual motorcycle tour across Michigan next Wednesday, August 7th. Peters’ “Kalamazoo to the Soo” tour will make stops in Kalamazoo, Wyoming, Traverse City, Sault Ste. Marie, and Sanford. Throughout the tour, Peters will be joined on the ride by veterans, union workers, motorcycle safety advocates, and constituents.
“There’s no better way to see our beautiful state than on a motorcycle,” said Senator Peters. “I’m grateful for the opportunity this tour brings each year to meet with Michiganders and talk about how, together, we are making our state a better place to work, live, and raise a family. This year, I’m looking forward to our ride from the ‘Zoo to the Soo.’”
“We’re going to be talking about everything from protecting workers’ rights, to strengthening Michigan’s defense assets and critical infrastructure, to boosting local economic development and ensuring Michigan communities can quickly recover when struck by disaster,” Peters continued.
Peters will start the tour in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, August 7th and conclude the tour in Sanford on Friday, August 9th. Additional information regarding his stops will be announced in the coming days.
Peters, an avid and long-time motorcycle rider, who founded the bipartisan Senate Motorcycle Caucus, will ride about 800 miles across the state on this year’s tour.
