WASHINGTON, DC – A bipartisan resolution cosponsored by U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) recognizing February 2024 as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month has unanimously passed in the Senate. Full text of the resolution is available here.
“Career and technical education programs provide people across Michigan with the hands-on experience and training necessary to secure in-demand, good-paying jobs,” said Senator Peters. “I remain committed to supporting workforce training programs that help us grow our economy and allow us to stay competitive globally.”
Senator Peters has previously led efforts to expand access to CTE programs and training opportunities outside of the traditional four-year degree career pathway. He helped enact bipartisan legislation which includes provisions he authored to help expand school counselor training and awareness of CTE programs so they can help inform students of post-high school educational opportunities. Peters also introduced bipartisan legislation that was signed into law to allow more veterans to use their GI bill benefits toward securing a registered apprenticeship.
