WASHINGTON, D.C. -U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) released the following statement on the Senate Republicans’ government funding proposal that does not include the bipartisan, Senate-passed assistance for the City of Flint:
“Just last week, the Senate passed legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support that includes a fully paid-for agreement to help Flint and communities across the country replace crumbling pipelines and water infrastructure. There is no reason why we cannot include assistance for Flint in the year-end government funding bill, along with aid to help victims of flooding in Louisiana. Families in Flint have waited far too long for help, and they still do not have safe water.”
