Peters Statement Honoring Veterans Day

WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a former Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, today released the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day:

“From World War II to Korea and Vietnam to modern day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, generations of Michigan veterans have served our nation in uniform with honor and dedication. On Veterans Day, we honor all the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who answered the call of duty in defense of our nation and our values, and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“Our nation owes these brave men and women – and their families – a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. Today – and every day – we must fulfill our obligation to America’s veterans by ensuring they have access to the benefits, care and support they have earned through their service.”
