Peters Welcomes Administration's Moves to Expand Access to Prescriptions for Abortion Medication

DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) released the following statement after the Administration’s actions to lift barriers and allow people to access prescriptions for medication abortion from more pharmacies:

“These are welcome moves by the Administration that will help women access critical health care prescribed by their doctors —at their local pharmacies or through the mail, just like other prescriptions. The ability for a woman to make decisions about her life, her future, and her health is fundamental, and I won’t stop fighting until women across the U.S. are able to access the health care they need without interference by politicians or judges – no matter which state they live in.”

Peters was the first U.S. Senator to publicly share his personal family story with abortion – which he shared in 2020 and told on the Senate floor. Peters was also featured in a USA Today story, speaking about his family’s heartbreaking experience.
