Peters Statement on the Passing of Senator Robert P. Griffin

DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) today released the following statement on the passing of former U.S. Senator and Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Griffin: 

“Michigan has lost a tremendous statesman and public servant in Robert P. Griffin. Whether in his work representing Michigan in Washington, in his leadership as a Michigan Supreme Court Justice or even in his military service, Robert P. Griffin represented the true values of public service. I am honored to hold his former Senate seat, and I was honored to serve as the third Griffin Endowed Chair in American Government at Central Michigan University. I hope that I can help carry on his legacy of service and his dedication to working for the people of Michigan. I am saddened by his passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.”
