Peters, Stabenow Announce Over $400,000 in Support for Madison Township Fire Department

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow today announced that the Madison Township Fire Department will receive $411,654 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant program to help hire three new full-time firefighters.

“Firefighters play a crucial role in protecting families, communities and businesses during emergencies,” said Senator Peters. “This funding will ensure that the Madison Township Fire Department can hire additional staff so they are prepared when emergency strikes.”

Eligible fire departments in Michigan and across the country can apply for Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grants. These competitive grants provide money to guarantee departments are appropriately staffed with qualified professional and volunteer firefighters.
