Peters, Stabenow Announce Nearly $3 Million in Funding for Pellston Regional Airport

DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) announced $2,958,460 in federal funding has been awarded to the Pellston Regional Airport in Emmet County. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation and is supplemented through the historic American Rescue Plan that Peters and Stabenow helped enact earlier this year. It will allow the airport to repair and upgrade its critical infrastructure, including its runways and tarmac where aircraft are parked, boarded, loaded, and refueled.

“Michigan airports play a critical role in connecting people and businesses across the state to important markets and destinations,” said Senator Peters. “This funding we secured through the American Rescue Plan will allow the Pellston Regional Airport in Emmet County to make necessary upgrades to their essential infrastructure to support their operations and ensure they can continue providing safe and reliable air travel.”
