Funding Made Possible by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Signed into Law Last Year
WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) today announced that Michigan will receive $1,567,824,375 from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to fix crumbling roads and bridges across the state. The total funding will come through 11 formula programs that will rebuild our roads and bridges, reduce carbon emissions, and improve safety. The Act was signed into law on November 15, 2021.
"This is a historic investment in our state's infrastructure and will provide much-needed support for our roads, highways, and bridges while creating a network of new electric vehicle charging stations. I'm proud to have worked with Senator Stabenow and President Biden to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which made this investment in Michigan's future possible," said Senator Peters.
“Thanks to the leadership of President Biden and his partnership with Congress, we are making the largest investment ever to fix our bridges and roads. It will transform how Michiganders get around the state and improve the safety of our bridges and roads for future generations. This funding is a game changer for Michigan and another critical piece of the investments in infrastructure coming to our state,” said Senator Stabenow.
