WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow today announced support for the Bloomfield Township Fire Department. The Bloomfield Township Fire Department will receive $23,589 for fire prevention projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards.
“It is critical that Michigan’s firefighters are able to respond quickly and effectively during emergency situations,” Senator Peters said. “This grant will provide first responders in Bloomfield Township with the tools and training they need to promote public safety projects that save lives.”
“Our firefighters in Bloomfield Township put their lives on the line to protect our families and homes,” said Senator Stabenow. “Prevention is key and these resources will help save lives and the treasured possessions of so many families.”
The Fire Prevention & Safety grant program is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These competitive grants enhance public safety through activities such as fire prevention education and awareness. More information about these grants can be found here.
