WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) released the following statement to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed every year from September 15th to October 15th:
“Hispanic Heritage Month offers a time to reflect on the many meaningful ways Latinos have helped shape our country’s history and culture. Our diversity is one of our country’s greatest strengths, and the Latino community’s roots are woven deeply into the fabric of our nation. Whether starting a small business, protecting our nation in the armed forces, promoting community engagement or leading new advances in the arts and sciences, Latinos are working to make America and Michigan better.
“I am proud to join Latinos in Michigan and across the country in recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month and honoring the legacy of Latinos’ valuable influence on America’s dynamic culture, communities, and economy.”
