Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to Convene Annual Hearing Examining Homeland Security Threats

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Gary Peters (D-MI) and Rob Portman (R-OH), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, announced they will hold the committee’s annual “Threats to the Homeland” hearing on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:15 AM.

The committee will hear testimony from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas, Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray, and National Counterterrorism Center Director Christine Abizaid about evolving and persistent threats to homeland security, including foreign and domestic terrorism, cyber-attacks, and severe natural disasters. Lawmakers will also discuss what resources and authorities federal agencies need to secure our Northern and Southern borders and counter potential attacks from weapons of mass destruction and drones.
