Peters Tours Michigan to Promote Passage of PACT Act

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 28, 2022) – With Congress on recess until next month due to the impending November 8th General Election, lawmakers who are not running for reelection have some time on their hands.

While some such as House Republican Fred Upton of St. Joseph are clearing out their offices and getting ready for life outside of Capitol Hill, others whose term doesn’t end this year are on the campaign trail for fellow colleagues. For second-term Senator Gary Peters, the suburban Detroit Democrat is touring the state to promote the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act that was recently signed into law by President Biden. The one-time Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander was at the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club in Grand Rapids on Wednesday to talk about the legislation with fellow vets.

Veterans can also file claims to apply for PACT Act-related benefits by calling the VA at 800-698-2411.
