Peters Plans Annual Motorcycle Tour Across Michigan

U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) today announced that he will be launching his annual motorcycle tour across Michigan later this month. Peters, an avid motorcycle rider from a young age, will be visiting small businesses and communities that have received assistance from the American Rescue Plan, which he helped Congress pass and was signed into law earlier this year.

Peters will be making stops in Hell, Flint, Alpena, Mackinaw City and Paradise. He will start his trip in Hell on Monday, August 23rd and conclude it on Wednesday, August 25th in Paradise. Throughout his ride, Peters will ride with veterans, motorcycle safety advocates, workers and constituents. Additional information regarding his stops will be announced in the coming days.

“There’s truly nothing like riding through Michigan on a motorcycle to meet with folks. I’m particularly excited to see first-hand how the American Rescue Plan is making a difference across our state, helping small businesses, families and communities stay afloat and emerge even stronger from this pandemic,” said Senator Peters. “I’m looking forward to getting back on my bike to continue meeting with Michiganders.”

The American Rescue Plan, which Peters helped pass out of the Senate, included direct stimulus checks to the majority of Michiganders, tax cuts for nearly 90 percent of Michigan families with children, and funding to accelerate vaccine distribution, help schools reopen safely, support small businesses and help communities carry out essential services. Additionally, as Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Peters was instrumental in securing robust federal resources to support vaccination efforts in Michigan and across the nation.
