Keweenaw Report: Legislation Introduced By Senator Peters Signed Into Law

Bipartisan Legislation introduced by Senator Gary Peters, has been signed into law.

The payment Integrity Act of 2019, was passed in hopes of eliminating wasteful government spending and improperly documented payments.

Senator Peters said this regarding the new law, “Michiganders work hard for their money – and they deserve to know that the federal government is using their taxpayer dollars responsibly, I am pleased that the President has signed into law this commonsense, bipartisan bill which will help to prevent billions of dollars in improper spending.” 

Government waste cost taxpayers an estimated  $151 Billion in 2018.
