Landmark legislation to update the Women’s Business Centers program and increase business assistance to the nation’s 10 million women entrepreneurs passed the Senate Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee Oct. 7.
Women’s Business Centers, partially supported by the Small Business Administration, provide critical programs designed to empower women to successfully start and grow businesses.
Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women provided counseling to 1,400 people with a result of 53 new businesses opened in 2013 alone!
This legislation will help us expand our services and would not have happened without the tremendous support of U.S. Senator Gary Peters.
