If you work hard and play by the rules, you should have the ability to retire with dignity. That is why Gary is working to preserve and protect hard-earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare. Whether it’s fighting against a plan to end Medicare as we know it, or opposing efforts to undermine Social Security benefits, Gary has made clear that we cannot balance the budget on the backs of our seniors.

More than 1.7 million Michiganders rely on the health care that Medicare provides for our seniors. Social Security has helped thousands of Michigan seniors stay out of poverty in their retirement. These programs are a sacred promise to our seniors, and Gary is working to strengthen and secure these vital programs for future generations.
